Geography
The village is located in the central part of the Tabunsky district, on the Kulundinskaya steppe , west of Lake Kulundinskoye . By road, the distance to the district center of the village of Tabuny is 10 km, to the regional center of Barnaul - 480 km [3] .

History
The village of Yamburg was founded in 1909 by immigrants from the Volga region. Until 1917, a Catholic village as part of the Slavgorod volost of the Barnaul district of Tomsk province. In 1926, an agricultural production partnership was organized [6] . Over time, the name transformed from Yamburg to Yamborg, and then to Yambor.
