Zhanna Pavlovna Elistratova ( December 6, 1942 , Kandalaksha ) is a Soviet skier who performed at the All-Union level in the early 1960s and mid-1970s. Biography

Zhanna Elistratova was born on December 6, 1942 in the city of Kandalaksha, Murmansk Region . She began to play sports actively from early childhood in the lower grades of the school, while studying in the tenth grade in 1959, she successfully performed at the RSFSR skiing championship in Leningrad and received the first sports rank.

After graduating from school, she studied at the P. F. Lesgaft State Institute of Physical Culture (now the P. F. Lesgaft National State University of Physical Culture, Sports and Health ), where in 1962 she completed the standard of a master of sports in skiing. Then, for family reasons, she moved permanently to the city of Sverdlovsk , where from 1966-1970 she studied as a process engineer in the Ural Polytechnic Institute named after S. M. Kirova (now the Ural State Technical University - UPI ). She was a member of the voluntary sports society " Petrel ", was trained under the guidance of coach I. I. Elistratov. As a student, she represented the country at three winter World Universiades : in 1966, in the Italian Sestriere, she won a silver medal in the 3 × 5 km relay race, in 1968 she won the 5 km race and the relay race in Innsbruck , in 1970 in Finnish Rovaniemi was the best at five kilometers and the second in the relay.

In 1968, Elistratova became a member of the national team of the Sverdlovsk Region and attended the USSR Otepää personal team championship , from where she brought the gold dignity won in the 4 × 10 km relay. At the 1972 All-Union Championship in Murmansk, she won a silver medal in the individual 5 km race, losing only the titled Alevtina Olyunina at the finish line. It was considered among the candidates for participation in the Winter Olympic Games in Sapporo , but in the end could not pass the selection due to too high competition in the Soviet team. In 1973, at the country's next skiing championship , she won the bronze medal in the women's relay as part of the Petrel team. Repeatedly became the champion and medalist of the Winter Spartakiads of the peoples of the USSR , the championships of the RSFSR and the All-Union Central Council of Trade Unions . For outstanding sports achievements in 1974 she was awarded the honorary title " Master of Sports of the USSR of the international class " [1] .

After completing her sports career, she studied at the graduate school of the UPI and then remained here as a teacher at the Department of Architectural Physics, for many years she worked as a ski trainer and teacher at the Department of Physical Education. Included in the Book of Honor of the Sverdlovsk Regional Council DSO "Petrel". She regularly participated in skiing competitions as a judge, is a judge of the republican category in biathlon .
