Graveland is a Polish viking / pagan / black metal band founded in 1992. [1] Mostly due to the work of vocalist / guitarist Darken (aka Robert Fudali), after a series of demos, the debut album Carpathian Wolves (1994) was released. [1] In the future, many albums were released on the No Colors Records label , however, a boycott was announced to the group by the press because of its commitment to national socialist views. [1] At the same time, the group was popular with fans of the NSBM movement. [2] Darken rejected the label, telling Decibel magazine that "Graveland is considered an NSBM group because of its political beliefs, which most people would call extreme right, national socialist beliefs." [2] Starting from the third album Following the Voice of Blood (1997), the group is heading for Viking metal, the sound becomes more epic and symphonic. [3]
