Nakata, Hidetoshi

Hideotoshi Nakata ( Japanese: 中 田 英 寿 Nakata Hidetoshi , born January 22, 1977 , Kofu , Yamanashi ) is a Japanese footballer who became one of the first Japanese players to prove themselves in the strongest European championships.

Biography

He previously played in Serie A for five clubs and the English Premier League for Bolton Wanderers . He played for the Japanese team at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. As part of the Japanese national team, he won the 2000 Asian Championships and also participated in the 1998, 2002 and 2006 World Championships and the 2005 Confederations Cup. He was recognized as the most valuable player of the Asian Confederation of Football in 1997 and 1998, and also entered the list of 125 best football players in the world among those living in 2004.

After the 2006 World Cup, he left football and went into business.

He is engaged in the restaurant business. He owns a chain of Chinese restaurants in Tokyo.
