The Minister of Labor ( Hebrew שר העבודה ) is the political head of the Israeli Ministry of Labor and a place in the cabinet of the Israeli government. The post of Minister of Labor was created in 1948 under the name "Minister of Labor and Construction" [1] , in 1949 it was renamed the "Minister of Labor and Social Security".
In 1977, the post was merged with the Minister of Welfare, dubbed the "Minister of Labor and Social Security." In 2003, the labor function was transferred to the Minister of Industry and Trade, which was renamed the "Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor."
