Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport ( IATA : PAT , ICAO : VEPT ) is an airport in India , located in the state of Bihar, 5 kilometers from Patna . The airport is named after the politician Narayan Jayaprakash .

The airport is 23rd in terms of congestion in India; in 2015-2016, passenger traffic increased by 32%. [1] In the future, it is planned to expand the airport for the Indian Air Force Bihta Air Base . From the airport to Patna can be reached by taxi.
Incidents
On July 17, 2000, the Alliance Air Boeing 737 crashed near the airport, killing 60 people. [2]
