Biography

In 1969 he graduated from high school in Idaho Falls , in 1973 he received a bachelor of arts in politics from Brigham Young University , in 1977 - a doctorate in law from Harvard Law School . In the same 1977, he was admitted to the bar, until 1978 he worked as a federal judge of the 9th Circuit, . In 1978-1979, he practiced law in San Diego , and from 1979 to 1992 in Idaho Falls. From 1985 to 1992 he was a senator in Idaho (from 1988 to 1992 he served as interim chairman of the Idaho Senate ). From January 3, 1993 to January 3, 1999 - member of the US House of Representatives, from 1999 - US Senator from Idaho [3] .

He co-chaired three focuses : Western Water, COPD and Sportsman, assistant senior parliamentary majority organizer , member of the Committee on Banks, Housing and Urban Development, the Budget Committee, the Committee on Environmental Issues and Public Works, and the Finance Committee [4] .

On October 8, 2016, Craipo issued a statement condemning the sexist statements of the Republican Party candidate Donald Trump and invited him to voluntarily withdraw his candidacy so that the party could nominate a more worthy candidate [5] .

On November 8, 2016, he was re-elected to the Senate with a result of 66.1% of the vote against 27.8% of the candidate for the Democratic Party [6] .

Personal life

In 1974, Mike Craipo married Susan Diane Hasleton, they have five children in their family: Michelle, Brian, Stephanie, Lara and Paul [7] .
