Mercer World Quality of Life Rating

The Mercer ranking includes 231 cities from Vienna to Baghdad in terms of quality of life . ^[1] The list of countries with fifty best cities includes Austria , Switzerland , Canada , Germany , New Zealand , Denmark , Australia , the Netherlands , Luxembourg , Sweden , Norway , Singapore , Belgium , Finland , Ireland , the USA , Portugal , France , Italy , Great Britain , Spain and Japan ^[2] . Vienna ranks first for ten consecutive years.

This rating is designed to help governments and large companies place employees in international projects. The study also identifies those cities with better security based on internal stability, crime, the effectiveness of law enforcement and relations with other countries. In this case, Luxembourg is the best, then Bern , Helsinki and Zurich , all at number two.

Cities, 231 in total, were evaluated on 39 factors, including political, economic , environmental , personal security, healthcare , education , transportation and other public factors services ^[3] . Cities were compared to New York , which was taken for a hundred points.
