Mertswiller ( French Mertzwiller ) is a commune in the northeast of France in the Grand Est region [1] (former Alsace - Champagne - Ardennes - Lorraine ), department of the Lower Rhine , district of Agno-Wisambour , canton of Reisssoffen [2] . Until March 2015, the commune as part of the abolished canton of Niederbronn-les-Bains was administratively part of the abolished district of Agno .

Economics
In 2010, out of 2256 people of working age (from 15 to 64 years), 1599 were economically active , 657 were inactive (activity indicator 70.9%, in 1999 - 71.4%). Of the 1599 active able-bodied residents, 1415 people worked (771 men and 644 women), 184 were unemployed (75 men and 109 women). Among 657 able-bodied inactive citizens, 162 were pupils or students , 236 were pensioners , and another 259 were inactive for other reasons [9] [10] .
