Content

History

It began to be published in 1995 . Founded by Mary Sofianidi , writer and public figure in Western Yakutia. Mary Mikhailovna made a significant contribution to the culture of the region: she organized the Kimberlite literary creative association named after the diamond-bearing mineral, worked actively and with many young authors, conducted multifaceted social activities, and promoted the Yakut culture. She devoted much effort to perpetuating the memory of the pioneers of the “diamond land”. She carried out publishing projects, taking part in them as an author, compiler. She became the first editor-in-chief of the Vilyuysky Dawns almanac.

The almanac is designed for a reader who is interested in the life of Western Yakutia - the diamondiferous province of the Republic of Sakha, its function, coverage of events related to the Mirny district , the Alrosa company, publication of literary and artistic works of Myrnians: poems, prose, journalism. Also, reproductions of local artists and photographs of Mirny are printed on color stickers of the almanac.

At different times, authors such as Valentin Vendelovsky, Eugene Shlionsky, James Savrasov, Alexander Tolstov collaborated with the almanac.

The circulation of the issue averages 1 thousand copies. During its existence, design and format have changed more than once. At the beginning of 1998, the format was 70x100 1/16. Since 1999, 84x108 1/16, the number of stripes from 120 to 200, the volume of color stickers from 8 to 16 stripes. The almanac was printed in Mirny , Novosibirsk. Since 2000, it was decided to issue an almanac with continuous UV varnishing of the cover, which had a beneficial effect on both the appearance of the publication and its practical qualities: the cover became more wear-resistant, which extended the life "publication in home and public libraries.
