Gliese 536 b ( Gliese 536 b , GJ 536 b ) [1] [2] [3] [4] is an exoplanet in the planetary system of the star Gliese 536 . In this system, this planet was discovered first. Of the known planets of the Gliese 536 system, it is the first in order, counting from a star. The distance to the Earth is about 33 light years.

Discovery History
In the constellation Virgo ( Virgo ) in November 2016, astronomers of the Canary Islands Astrophysical Institute Alejandro Suarez Mascareno and Rafael Rebolo discovered the super-Earth Gliese 536 b (GJ 536 b), revolving around the red dwarf Gliese 536 [5] .
Physical and other characteristics
Super-Earth Gliese 536 b (GJ 536 b) orbiting the red dwarf Gliese 536 for 8.7 days and is outside the habitat - life on it is impossible. It is possible that in this system there are several more planets of small mass in wider orbits around the star, with periods from 100 days to several years.
Planet dimensions and orbit parameters
The rocky planet found has a mass of 5.4 Earth and makes one revolution around the mother star in 8.7 days.
