History
Castle Street arose in Podzamchye at the end of the 19th century and was used by water carriers that collected water from the Styr into barrels and transported it along Plitnitsa to Lutsk Castle , in which historians believe there never were wells [1] .
At one time, it was Plitnitsa Street that was called Zamkova, but with the appearance of the street of the same name under the Castle, it was renamed Nizhnekamkovaya, and the lane connecting them began to be called Kozliny Descent [1] .
Active development of the street occurred at the beginning of the 20th century [1] .
After World War II , a market was moved to the area west of the street, which over time became known as Central and expanded greatly in the 1990s and 2000s [1] . As a result, the beginning of the street was lost between the pavilions of the city bazaar [1] .
Attractions
Fragments of buildings from the late XIX - early XX centuries [1] have been preserved on the street.
