Biography
Born in a working class family. In 1939 she joined the Social Democratic Party , in 1945 - the Hungarian Communist Party .
In 1950 she was elected Secretary General of the Hungarian Democratic Federation of Women, and in 1956-1957 she was its president. In October 1950, became a member of the Presidium of the National Peace Council, and since 1972 - its vice president. From 1957 to 1965 - Representative of Hungary in the International Democratic Federation of Women .
Since 1953 - Member of the National Assembly of Hungary:
- 1955-1963 - Deputy Chairman,
- 1963-1967 - Chairman,
- 1967-1970 - Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly.
Since 1971 - Member of the Presidium of the Hungarian People's Republic.
Since 1954, member of the board of the National Council of the Patriotic People’s Front, from 1956 to 1964 - national secretary of the organization.
