For the filming of the film, planes from the fund of the Museum of the Air Force of the SF in Safonov were used. The IL-4 , which plays the main role, is an aircraft assembled from four found on the Kola Peninsula. The central part of the aircraft was discovered near Krasnoshchelye, the right console was delivered from the crash site of IL-4 near Luostari, the left console, landing gear and the tail of the search engines were found in the Gremikha area, and the cabin equipment and its front were found near Murmansk. The ASh-62IR engines were taken from Li-2. The plane did not fly, but was able to steer on the airfield independently. Rulil for filming Lieutenant Colonel Vladlen Bondarenko. Airfield scenes of the film were shot in Safonov-1 . Episodes in the club were filmed in the House of Fleet Officers and in a sailor's club in the garrison of the Navy Air Force in the city of Vyborg, Leningrad Region. Actors and garrison officers were involved in the filming of the episodes in both clubs. The concert was filmed at the DOF of Severomorsk. Some episodes (including on the pier) were also filmed in Safonovo. After the shooting, the plane remained in the hangar as a museum exhibit, the second IL-4 was burned during the shooting. In 1998, the roof of the museum hangar collapsed right on the IL-4 and the plane was completely destroyed. Subsequently, the car was rebuilt by enthusiasts .

In the film, the real Messerschmitt Bf.109 F4 / Trop W.Nr. fighter was shot 10132 "CD + LZ" German ace Horst Karganiko (60 air victories). Horst August 12, 1942 escorted a scout on this plane, but was shot down in battle by the pilots of the 19th Guards and Aviation Regiment and made an emergency landing in the Murmansk region (the bullet holes in the plane are real). The aircraft was accidentally found in 1980 in Motovsky Bay and, with the help of a Mi-6 helicopter, was taken to the Northern Fleet Aviation Museum in Safonovo , where it was minimally restored for exposure. In 1983, he took part in the filming of the film "Torpedo bombers." In 1994 (or 1996?), This unique aircraft was sold to the English company Aero Vintage Ltd. In 1999 he was transferred to Canada at the National Aviation Museum ( Ottawa ). The sale of the museum plane caused a negative reaction among the Northern Fleet aviators, and subsequently another Messerschmitt Bf.109F4 was installed in the museum's exposition.
