Biography

He began to actively engage in boxing from early childhood, was trained in the sports society " Mladi Radnik " in the city of Pozharevac .

The first serious success at the adult international level was achieved in the 1979 season, when he joined the main team of the Yugoslav national team and thanks to a series of successful performances he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the European Championships in Cologne (1979). In the classification of the first middle weight, the Czechoslovak boxer Miroslav Pavlov, the Greek Athanasis Iliadis and the Romanian Ion Budusan won here. In the decisive final match, he met with the German Ernst Müller and lost to him with a score of 0: 5, thereby winning the silver medal of the continental championship.

In 1981, he took part in the European Championship in Finnish Tampere , but did not gain much success here - after defeating the host of the competition, Yari Nikkila, at the quarter-finals with a score of 1: 4, he was defeated by Soviet boxer Serik Konakbaev . In the 1983 season he won the bronze medal at the Mediterranean Games in Casablanca in the first middle weight category, at the European Championship in Bulgarian Varna that same year he could not be among the winners - after a 5-0 victory over the Swede of Ves Koskel in the quarterfinal 0 : 5 lost to the representative of the Soviet Union Peter Galkin .

After completing his career as an athlete, he worked as a coach in the boxing club of the city of Kostolac and later coached boxers in the sports society “Mladi Radnik” in Požarevac.

Died due to cancer [1] [2] [3] .
