History
In 1889, the land plot on which Babikov’s house is currently located was owned by the tradeswoman F.M. Mamaev . On the site were a half-stone house, four outbuildings, a bathhouse and services. At the end of the 19th century, the land was acquired by the merchant N. G. Babikov. The house was built in 1899 according to the project of the architect Julius Osipovich Dutyel in a brick style with Gothic elements. At the beginning of the XX century. N. G. Babikov went bankrupt, and his house and shop were transferred to the merchant Methodius Vasilievich Toporishchev , who kept the store’s profile, continuing to sell expensive products in it: caviar, salmon, cheese, gourmet sausages and wines. From 1975 to the present time, the Sverdlovsk Regional Dermatovenerologic Dispensary is located in the house [2] . In 1996 from the street Malysheva was made a two-story annex [3] .
