Biography
Vasily Vasilievich Silantiev fought in Stalingrad, Orel and the Kursk. Then he liberated Kiev, went through Poland, reached Berlin. He was called up on July 28, 1941, as a technician for the repair of fighting vehicles of a tank battalion of first-level repairmen in the 3rd Panzer Army.
The first award, Lieutenant-Technician Silantyev was awarded in August 1943 for distinction in the Oryol operation. He pulled out a wounded tanker from a wrecked T-34, and later drove a damaged German T-IV tank to the location of our troops. The second star was awarded for participating in the crossing of the Dnieper, according to the order of the commander of the 51st Guards Tank Brigade No. 013 / n of October 6, 1943. Silantyev received the third order on September 13, 1944 for distinctions in the Proskurov-Zhmerinsky operation. Captain Silantiev was awarded the Fourth Red Star in May 1945 for participating in the capture of Berlin and the liberation of Prague. After the war, Vasily Vasilievich continued to serve in the armored forces. In addition to the 6 Orders of the Red Star, Lt. Col. Silantyev was also awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree for participating in the Lviv-Sandomierz operation, and many medals.
