History

In 1954, during the II Asian Games in the capital of the Philippines, Manila, representatives of four baseball associations ( Japan , South Korea , Taiwan and the Philippines ) formed a committee on the organization of a continental baseball federation. On September 7 of the same year, the Asian Baseball Federation was created at the founding congress in Manila, and Philippe Charles Chick Parsons, representative of the Philippines, was elected president. All in the same 1954 the first Asian Championship was held. Since 1994, baseball has been part of the Asian Games program. Since 1994, Asian championships have been held among juniors, since 2000 - among cadets and juveniles. In 1995, the first Asian Cup was held, from 2012 divided into eastern and western divisions.

BFA Structure

The highest body of the Asian Baseball Federation is the Congress , which is held every two years. All national federations that are members of the BFA are invited to attend the Congress.

To solve the tasks set by the Congress before the BFA, as well as the statutory requirements, the delegates of the Congress elect an Executive Council , which implements the decisions of the Congress, as well as organizes the daily activities of the BFA. It is led by the President of the Asian Baseball Federation, elected by Congress. In addition to the president, the Council also includes three vice presidents, a secretary general, an executive director and other members.
