The Parent Trap is an American family comedy directed by Nancy Meyers with Dennis Quaid , Natasha Richardson and Lindsay Lohan in the lead roles. A remake of the 1961 film of the same name, the film script is based on the book “Das doppelte Lottchen” by Erich Kestner .

Story
Young Holly Parker lives in sunny California with the most wonderful father in the world, and her peer Annie James lives in foggy London with a beautiful loving mother. The first dreams of a mother, without which it is very difficult for her, and the second so wants her to have a dad.
When girls accidentally meet in a summer camp, they have something to share with each other. But besides the common sorrows between Holly and Annie, there is another similarity: they are ... twins! Their parents divorced many years ago, and the girls decide to fix this tragic mistake.

- The twins were originally supposed to be played by Michelle Trachtenberg . Coincidentally, her birthday is October 11, the same day as Holly and Annie.
- The boy lost in the camp is played by Michael Lohan , Lindsey's brother.
