Biography
Valery Shavrin was born on September 27, 1930 in Tyumen [1] . In 1943, the family went to evacuation to Tashkent, where he graduated from school, and then the Tashkent Mining College, specializing in mining electrician. He worked in the mines of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, was a technologist at the plant of radio parts.
From the 1950s he played in the amateur drama theater at the Tashkent House of Scientists. There he was noticed by the director of the theater of the Turkestan Military District (TurkVO) and invited to his place. In the theater of TurkVO Shavrin played about five years. Here he met his future wife, actress Elena Payevskoy.
In the late 1950s, he was invited to Vladivostok to the Primorsky Regional Drama Theater .
From 1962 he worked in the Khabarovsk Regional Drama Theater .
In 1966 he took up directing work, was appointed chief director of the Khabarovsk theater of the young audience . In 1968 he returned to the Khabarovsk Drama Theater, but was soon invited to Sevastopol.
In 1970-1972, together with his wife Elena Payevskaya, he served two seasons at the Sevastopol Drama Theater, but in 1972 they returned to Khabarovsk.
The first play “Who is a friend?” Was written about students of a mining technical school in 1958. She was put to the theater TourvO. In 1960, when he was already in Vladivostok, he wrote, together with the composer A. Kovalev, the play Primorskaya Lyric, which he staged for the 100th anniversary of the city by G. Ivanov, the main director of the Primorsky Theater. Author of many plays, some of which put on the stages of theaters. In the 1960-1970s his plays were performed in many theaters in the country. In 1965 he became a member of the Union of Writers of the USSR.
Died February 16, 1978.
