Biography

Zoran Prerad was born on August 15, 1971 in the city of Banja Luka , Yugoslavia (now the Republika Srpska , Bosnia and Herzegovina ). He has performed at various taekwondo competitions since 1990.

He achieved the first serious success at the international level in the 1995 season when he joined the main team of the Yugoslav national team and attended the World Championships in Manila , from where he brought the bronze medal award won in the middle weight category. Three years later, he successfully performed at the European Championships in Eindhoven , defeated all his rivals in the tournament grid, including Turk Yasin Yagyz, in the final in the final and won the gold medal.

Thanks to a series of successful performances, Prerad was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens , became the only taekwondo player from Bosnia and Herzegovina at this Olympics, and at that time he was already 31 years old. Nevertheless, his performance here did not last long, already in the starting bout of the heavy weight category at the preliminary stage, he was defeated by Spaniard Hon Garcia with a score of 2:13 and lost any chance of getting into the number of winners. Soon after the end of these competitions, Zoran Prerad decided to end his career as a professional athlete, giving way to the team of young Bosnian tae kwon do players [1] [2] .
