History
Date of establishment not established. Presumably founded in the middle of the XIX century. Originally known as Aleksikov Farm. Aleksikov farm was first designated in European Russia and the Caucasus region in 1862 [2] . The farm was part of the yurt of the village of Mikhailovskaya in the Khopersky District of the Land of the Don Army (since 1870 - the Don Army Region ). According to the List of populated areas of the Earth of the Don Army in 1859, 323 men and 240 women lived on the farm [3] .
The population of the farm grew rapidly: the censuses of 1897 on the farm Aleksikov already lived 799 men and 863 women. Most of the population was illiterate: 288 of them were literate men and 30 were literate women [4] .
At the beginning of the 20th century, an overgrown farm was divided into two parts. According to the alphabetical list of the populated areas of the Don Cossack Region of 1915, the land allotment for the upper part amounted to 3803 acres , the lower - 3741, in the upper part there were 468 men and 556 women, in the lower - 497 men and 493 women, each part had its own farm management, in the upper part also had a church and a parish school [5] .
Since 1928, in the Novonikolayevsky district of the Khopyorsky district (abolished in 1930) of the Lower Volga region (from 1934 the Stalingrad region [6] , from 1936 the Stalingrad region, from 1954 to 1957 the district was part of the Balashov region ) [7 ] .
Geography
The farm is located in the forest-steppe, within the Khopersko-Buzuluk plain , which is the southern end of the Oka-Don Lowland , on both sides of the Kasarka beam. In the northeast, Alexikovsky borders on the working village of Novonikolaevsky . The center of the farm is located at an altitude of about 140 meters above sea level [8] . Soils are ordinary chernozems [9] .

By road, the distance to the regional center of Volgograd is 310 km, to the nearest city of Uryupinsk - 32 km [10] .
- Climate
The climate is temperate continental (according to the Köppen climate classification - Dfb ). The long-term rainfall is 484 mm. During the city, the amount of precipitation is distributed relatively evenly: the largest amount of precipitation falls in May and June - 54 mm, the smallest in February and March - 27 mm each. The average annual temperature is + 6.4 ° C, the average temperature of the coldest month of January is −9.6 ° C, the hottest month of July +21.3 ° C [11] .

The farm crosses the federal highway "Caspian" . Within the borders of the farm there is a junction of the Caspian highway and the Uryupinsk – Novonikolaevsky regional highway [8] .
