Biography
Apparently, he was from a kind of princes Elishia , a region in mountain Macedonia . Philip was the brother of Harpal , treasurer and friend of the youth of Alexander the Great .
For the first time the name of Philip as the commander of a unit subordinate to Ptolemy is mentioned in the description of the company against aspasians in 327 BC. er during Alexander's Indian campaign .
In 326 BC er Alexander made Philip the head of the newly formed satrapy located between the Indus and Hydasp rivers with its capital in the city of Taxila .
