Dragana Gladović ( Serb. Dragana Gladoviћ / July 27, 1992 , Šabac ) - Serbian Taekwondo featherweight champion, has been playing for the Serbian national team since 2008. The bronze medalist of the summer Universiade in Gwangju , a participant in the Summer Olympic Games in London, the winner of many tournaments of national and international significance.

Biography

Dragan Gladovich was born on July 27, 1992 in the city of Shabac, Machvan district . She began to actively engage in taekwondo from early childhood, she was trained at the local Letnikovac martial arts club.

She made her international debut in the 2007 season, when she performed at the European Junior Championships in Baku and reached the quarter-finals here. A year later, she entered the main squad of the Serbian national team and visited the adult European championship in Rome, however, she was knocked out of the further struggle for medals in the very first match. In 2009, she won a bronze medal at the Junior European Championships in Swedish Trelleborg. She took part in the adult European Championships 2010 in St. Petersburg and 2012 in Manchester , but could not get into the number of winners at any of the tournaments.

In 2012, in the featherweight category, Gladovich won the qualification Olympic tournament in Kazan and, thanks to a series of successful performances, was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the Summer Olympic Games in London . Lost both of her fights here: at the preliminary stage, she was defeated by the British Jade Jones , who eventually became the Olympic champion, while in the consolation tournament she was defeated by Japanese Mayu Hamada [1] .

After the London Olympics, Dragana Gladovic remained in the main squad of the Serbian national team and continued to take part in major international tournaments. So, in 2013, she performed at the Mediterranean Games in Mersin , where, however, she lost in her first duel. At the World Championships in Puebla, she also did not have much success, already in the starting battle she lost to the Russian woman Alexandra Lychagina . Being a student, she represented the country at the 2015 Summer Universiade in Gwangju , brought back a bronze dignity prize, won in featherweight. She took part in the first European Games in Baku - at the quarter-finals she was stopped by the titled Croatian Ana Zaninovich , while in the comforting meetings for the third place she lost to the Swedish Nikita Glasnovich . The participant of the world championship in Chelyabinsk .
