History
Prior to the construction of the stadium in its place was Sennaya Square, on which the market was located. This place has become a platform for training and competition in the open air. Before the start of the matches, the carts moved apart, the competition site was cleared, poles were put with a rope instead of crossbars, and the game began. By the spring of 1924, the site was surrounded by a fence, benches were made for the audience [1]
And by May 1, 1924, the stadium built by Komsomol members and young people on communist subbotniks was open [2] [3] . The stadium is the first sports facility of the city and originally had the name "Red Stadium".
According to other data, the stadium on Sennaya Square was built in April 1927, and in 1930 it was transferred to the Dynamo sports society [4] .
The territory of the sports complex lies within the borders of Novorossiysk, Balonin and Kuban streets. Located under the patronage of the Volgograd FSB. It was the home ground for the local Dynamo football team. Also hosted various national competitions. Previously was a football and athletics. Currently, the stadium has 8 athletics tracks, one tribune with a capacity of 2800 spectators.
