Luzin, Pavel Gavrilovich

Pavel Gavrilovich Luzin (1903, Satka, Chelyabinsk Region - 1997, S. Kurganovo, Sverdlovsk Region) - Soviet scientist, designer of car wheels.

He studied at the Zlatoust Industrial College (1923-1927), worked at the ZMZ, from where he was sent on a work ticket to the Ural Polytechnic Institute, which he graduated in 1930 with a degree in metallurgical engineering, and spent 5 years teaching there.

In 1935, by order of S. Ordzhonikidze, he was sent to the Uralvagonzavod to develop casting production: the head of the technical department, the head of the wheel shop, and the deputy chief metallurgist.

Since 1957, he worked in the Sverdlovsk Economic Council, head of the foundry economics laboratory at the research institute, and taught at the UPI.

Candidate of Technical Sciences (1969).

He was awarded the Order of the Red Star (1944), medals.

He is the author of books: “A Handbook of Fuel and Fuel Burning in Tables, Formulas, Charts” (1933), “Specialization of Foundry in the Middle Urals” (1964), “Fundamentals of Economics and Organization of Foundry” (1972).

The 1950 Stalin Prize - for participating in the creation of a new technology for manufacturing cast iron wheels with a bleached rim at the Uralvagonzavod.
