Geography
The village is located 23 km northeast of the city of Surazh in the right floodplain of the Iput River.
History
Known since the 17th century as the village of Nivnaya [2] . During the Great Patriotic War, the village was occupied by the troops of the Third Reich . Also on the territory of the village was the collaborationist detachment of Nikolai Kozin .
