Biography

She graduated from school in Sarajevo and in 1938 entered the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Zagreb , where she studied natural and biotechnical sciences, engineering, medicine and healthcare.

After graduation, she first worked as a teacher in Sarajevo, Banja Luka , later returned to Sarajevo and began working at the Institute for Industrial Research.

Since 1955 - a chemical technologist in the laboratory of the company Podravka (Croatia). Her first major success was achieved in 1957, when, on the initiative and under her leadership, the company began the production of dehydrated soups .

Seasoning Vegeta

There, in 1958, under her leadership, the Vegeta recipe was created, which became one of the most popular Croatian brands . Seasoning appeared on the Yugoslav market in 1959 , and since 1967 it began to be exported to Hungary and the USSR . The record export indicator of Vegeta was reached in 1995 and amounted to 26,000 tons. Since 2006, Vegeta has been available in several versions. Now sold in more than 40 countries.

For the invention, Zlata Bartle received a number of recognitions and awards, including:

  • Order of the Croatian Star .
  • Silver Heart Award Prize (1972).
  • Prize for the technical culture of Croatia (1985).
  • Lifetime Achievement Award (1987).
  • Award for many years of work achievements and high achievements of the city of Koprivnitsa .
  • Medal of the Order of Nikola Tesla.
  • Golden Marten Award by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (1998) and others.

In 1976 she retired.

Now there is a fund named after Zlata Bartl for students of chemists studying at the University of Zagreb.
