History
Date of establishment not established. At the beginning of the 20th century, the settlement had the status of a settlement . Novo-Petrovskaya Sloboda belonged to the Second Donskoy okrug of the Donskoy Army region. According to the Alphabetical List of Populated Areas of the Don Region, the 1915 edition, 648 men and 527 women lived in the Novo-Petrovskaya settlement, the allotment of the settlement was 2314 acres , the settlement had a volost government, a church, two schools [2]
In 1921, as part of the Second Don Region, it was included in the Tsaritsyn province [3] . In 1928, the Novo-Petrovsky farm was included in the Kalachevsky district of the Stalingrad district of the Lower Volga region (from 1934 - the Stalingrad region , from 1936 - the Stalingrad region, from 1961 - the Volgograd region ) [4] . Until 1953, the Novo-Petrovsky Village Council existed. In 1954, the territory was included in the Lyapichevsky village council [5] .
General physical and geographical characteristics
The farm is located in the steppe zone within the Ergeninsky Upland , belonging to the East European Plain , on the left bank of the Eric River, south of the Novolyapichev Farm [6] . The center of the farm is located at an altitude of about 40 meters above sea level. In the area of the farm, the slopes of the Erik River valley are gentle. The slope of the terrain is insignificant [6] . The soil cover is complex: chestnut solonetzic and solonchak and solonetzic (automorphic) are widespread [7] .

By road, the distance to the regional center of Volgograd is 88 km, to the regional center of Kalach-on-Don - 56 km, to the administrative center of the rural settlement of Lyapichev farm - 8 km [8] .
