Career

Erbolat Baybatyrov was born in 1986 in the village of Taipak, Ural Region . Erbolat's first big victory was the bronze medal of the 2003 World Junior Championships. He became the champion of Asia among juniors and among youth. In June 2005 in Tashkent, Yerbolat became a bronze medalist in the category up to 52 kg. Later he wins a number of tournaments, including competitions for the prize of the President of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev in 2007 in Uralsk . In 2007, became the champion of Asia in Tashkent [1] .

At first, Yerbolat was trained by Berik Zhumagaliev, who was then replaced by Kazbek Ibrashev. Since 2007, Yerbolat has been engaged under the leadership of Rayymbek Mendygaziev.

In November 2007 in Prague he became the bronze medalist of the World Cup in the category up to 52 kg.

And in November 2008 in St. Petersburg for the first time became the world champion in the category up to 52 kg [2] . In the final duel, Yerbolat defeated the Russian sambo wrestler Valery Soronokov .

In 2009, he became the champion of Asia for the second time.

At the 2009 World Championships in Greek Thessaloniki, he again won gold [3] . Erbolat’s opponent in the final was Russian sambist Denis Cherentsov .

At the 2010 World Championships in Tashkent, Yerbolat won his third gold, this time in the category up to 57 kg. In the final, Yerbolat turned out to be stronger than Azerbaijani Islam Gasimov.

From the 2011 World Cup in Vilnius, Baybatyrov brings his fourth gold. The opponent of Yerbolat in the final was the Georgian Ushangi Kuzanashvili.

At the next world championship in Minsk, a Kazakhstani sambo wrestler was content with a bronze award.

At the 2016 World Championships in Sofia, after a long break, Yerbolat won another medal - silver in the category up to 57 kg. In the final, he lost to Georgian sambist Vakhtang Chidrashvili .

In 2006, Yerbolat received a diploma from the Ural Pedagogical College, and later graduated from the West Kazakhstan Humanitarian Academy with a degree in physical education teacher.
