Biography

Born in the village of Berdskaya on the territory of the First Military Department, belonging to the Orenburg Cossack Army (OKV), in a family of Cossacks. He graduated from the Orenburg civic gymnasium, after which he entered the Orenburg Cossack Junker School , from which he graduated from the second category. In addition, he studied at the Officers Rifle and Cavalry Schools [1] [2] .

He began his service on the first day of 1883. He received the rank of cornet in 1888, the centurion - in 1892, and the subaul - in 1903. He became the esaul "for military distinctions" in March 1906 (with seniority since 1901), and the army foreman - in 1916. He rose to the colonel in September 1917. [3] , and already during the Civil War he became major general of the White movement [1] [4] .

From 1891 to 1894 he served in the 6th Orenburg Cossack Regiment . In the period from 1901 to 1904 he was on a privilege without a post. After that he was appointed to the composition of the divine convoy of the preferential Orenburg Cossack division (1904). He served in the 12th and 1st Cossack regiments, which included a member of the Russo-Japanese War [1] . At the end of the conflict in the Far East, from 1908 to 1910, was again listed in the Orenburg 1st Regiment . From January 10, 1914 he was in the Orenburg 2nd governor of the Nagoy regiment , where he commanded the second hundred from the end of January [2] .

World War I

On September 6, 1915, he received an order from the head of the 13th Cavalry Division to seize the crossing of the Vistula River in the Mariampol area, near the village of Smorgon ; the second regiment, which included the 2nd hundred Esaul Belov, was entrusted with the task of protecting the right flank of the division and mastering the crossing near the village of Shvedy; according to the nomination, the scouts discovered an enemy squadron entrenched with two machine guns at the railroad track near the village of Konovichi; after an hour-long shootout, two Cossack hundreds were able to drive the Germans off the railroad track; Belov, seeing a randomly withdrawing enemy, left fifty of the Cossacks “for pursuit by fire,” while he put the other fifty on horses and, jumping over the railway track , attacked the dismounted enemy; cut down thirteen and captured two people; as a result of further persecution, a machine gun and several bicycles were seized near the village of Ryazhichi; at that time, enemy reinforcements arrived at the scene of the clash - several fresh squadrons - and the newly captured machine gun had to be thrown, “taking out the bolt” - this bolt was presented to the division headquarters. For this battle in 1916 he was awarded the St. George Arms [1] [5] .

From the end of February 1916 he was in charge of the economy of the entire regiment, and from the beginning of July he became the assistant commander [2] . In 1917, he took the post of commander of the 2nd OKW Regiment - albeit on a temporary basis [1] .
