He played many roles in cinema and television productions. Known to the audience for the role of Lieutenant Pavel Chekhov in the television series Star Trek: The Original Series . He also played the role of Alfred Bester in the series " Babylon 5 ".

Early years
Walter's parents were Jewish immigrants from Lithuania; upon moving Sarah (in the girlhood Strauss) and Isador changed their surname from Koenigsberg to Koenig [3] . Walter's father was a businessman. The actor graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
Career
Acting career
Koenig played the role of Pavel Chekhov , navigator of the USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) spaceship in the pilot series of the Star Trek media franchise, as well as in several spin-off films of the series.
Humanitarian work
In 2007, Walter Koenig received a proposal from the civil rights group of the US Campaign for Burma to help them reach the US population with their message on the humanitarian crisis in Myanmar. As reported later on his official Walter website, he visited a refugee camp on the Thai-Myanmar border, staying there from July 16 to July 25, 2007.
Personal life
Since 1965, Walter Koenig has been married to Judy Levitt , they have children - son Josh Andrew Koenig (committed suicide in the spring of 2010) and daughter, Daniel Koenig (wife of comedian Jimmy Pardo ). Walter survived heart surgery in 1993. His role in the series " Babylon 5 " because of this remained in question; however, the creator of the series, Joseph Michael Strazinsky, promised Walter to keep this place behind him, making some changes to the script. Subsequently, the role went to Walter, he participated in several seasons of filming.
