Incidents
In March 2006, the New York Times reported the presence in the groundwater samples taken at the nuclear power plant of traces of radioactive isotopes of nickel and strontium. The source of pollution could be spent fuel storage pools, of which leaks were known. Although there was a probability of migration of these substances into the Hudson River, their low concentration, according to officials, could not pose a threat to public health [1] .
