Biography
Representative of the Lithuanian gentry clan Shields-Nemirovichi coat of arms " Yastrzhembek ". One of the six sons of the Polotsk subcommittee Justinian Shield-Nemirovich (d. 1677 ) and Anna Tukovich (d. 1694 ).
In 1672, Krzysztof Shield took an insignificant part in the pre- Diet Seymic in Polotsk . In 1674, together with his father and brothers from the Polotsk Voivodeship, he signed the electorate of John III Sobieski . In 1677 and 1682 he was elected a deputy from Polotsk to the Tribunal of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania . In 1682 he received the title of stolnik Polotsky . In the 1680s, Krzysztof Shield was associated with the Sapeg-Oginski camp.
In 1683, Krzysztof Shchit-Nemirovich took part in the Vienna campaign of the Polish king Jan III Sobieski .
He was elected as a deputy (ambassador) from the Polotsk Voivodeship to the Diet in 1688, 1692, 1693. At the Diet of 1693, he signed a manifesto urging King Jan Sobieski to leave the country without advice and defense. In 1695, he was again elected ambassador from the Polotsk Voivodeship to the Sejm. In 1696, he took part in the provocative Diet in Warsaw, and after its closure in the General Confederation. In 1697, he received the post of Corunet of Polotsk .
In 1697, Krzysztof Shield left the Sapezhinsky group and joined the Republicans, who began the struggle against the dominance of the Sapieha clan in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. At the electoral parliament of 1697, he supported the candidacy of the Saxon Elector Augustus the Strong to the Polish royal throne. He represented the Polotsk Voivodeship at the coronation of Augustus II the Strong , then at the pacification parliament, where he was elected to the delegation sent to the new king to amend the constitution and withdraw the Saconic troops from the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.
In 1700, Jozef Schit-Nemirovich signed a peace agreement between the Republicans and the Sapieha in Vilna (the treaty did not enter into force). In the same year, as the captain of the armor-plated gonfalon, he, along with the coughman Mikhail Kazimir Pats, conducted a census of the Commonwealth crumbling of the Polotsk gentry. Commanding the armored banners from the Polotsk Voivodeship, he took part in a victorious battle with the Sapieha near Olkeniki ( November 18, 1700 ). In the name of the republican movement, he signed in Vilnius an act recognizing the Polish king Augustus the Strong as absolute power in the Grand Duchy of Lithuania ( September 24, 1700 ).
In 1701, as a deputy from the Polotsk Voivodeship , he participated in republican congresses in Rozhany, Vilno and Grodno . As a deputy from the Polotsk Voivodeship, Krzysztof Shield participated in the Confederation Councils of Warsaw and Torun in 1702 and the Republican Congress in Vilnius , where the General Confederation of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in defense of King Augustus the Strong was created . In 1703, he participated in the Confederate Council in Malbork . In the same 1703, at the Sejm in Lublin, he was elected a deputy to the Scarb Tribunal , and during the congress near Sandomierz in 1704 he became a deputy to the courts of the Sandomierz Confederation. In 1705, he participated in the work of the Sandomierz Confederation in Grodno .
Associated with the Lithuanian Hetman, Mikhail Vishnevetsky , with the support of whom he received the position of the Great Lithuanian Cup-holder in 1702 . In 1704, Krzysztof Shchit-Nemirovich participated in the battles in Zhemaitia with the Swedes and their supporters Sapieha, including the victory at Shkudami over Krzysztof Kezgaylo-Zavisi. In 1706 - 1707 he was in the camp of Mikhail Vishnevetsky in Kaunas .
In 1707, Krzysztof Shield signed an act of interregnum in Lublin . In 1708, he fought against the Russian-Lithuanian detachments of the Hetman of the full Lithuanian Grigory Oginsky and, together with the camp, recognized Mikhail Vishnevetsky as king Stanislav Leshchinsky . In 1709, Krzysztof Shchit-Nemirovich approved the return of Augustus the Strong to the throne, left the camp of Mikhail Vishnevetsky and contacted the royal court and the Lithuanian Hetman Stanislav Dengoff . In 1709-1716, he commanded the Pyatigorsk banners in the Lithuanian army.
In 1710, he was elected a deputy from the Polotsk Voivodeship to the Warsaw Rada , to which he was confirmed as a deputy to the Scarb Tribunal of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania . In 1713, Krzysztof Shchit-Nemirovich was appointed cousin of Smolensk and began to try to achieve the post of governor of Mstislavsky. In 1717, he took part in the Silent Diet , where he was elected to the Scarb Tribunal .
Property
Krzysztof Shield-Nemirovich owned significant land holdings, mainly in the Polotsk Voivodeship . He owned the Prophets, Ososkovo, Ushachi , Dotnuva, Kozhan-Gorodok , Komarovschina, Lisno, Khlintse, Yalovka, Sanniki, Bolotnitsa, Orekhovo, Ponevezys , etc.
His second wife bequeathed to him the right to the headman Yasvonskoye, which in 1707 was inherited by their eldest son Jozef.
Sponsor of the Order of the Franciscans in the Prophets and the Barefoot Carmelites in Kaunas . Together with his wife, Anna Zavishi, he built the Carmelite church in Kaunas .
Family and Children
Krzysztof Shield-Nemirovich was married three times.
1st wife - Lyudvika Khreptovich, widow of the sub-capital of Braslavskogo Krzysztof Kimbar, daughter of Jerzy Khreptovich, granddaughter of the governor of Novogrudok, Jerzy Khreptovich, sister of Susanna, wife of Tomasz Sapieha, governors of Novogrudok and Venden. The first marriage was childless.
The second wife is Katarzyna Bennett (d. 1695 ), widow of the headman of the Yasvonsky Jerzy Konstantin Yuditsky, son of the Kashtelyan of Minsk Alexander Yuditsky (d. 1677). Children from the second marriage:

The third wife is Anna Kezgailo-Zavisha (d. 1736 ), daughter of the headman of Braslav Jan Zavisha (c. 1620–1671) and Apollonia Krishpin-Kirshenstein, granddaughter of the great Lithuanian Krzysztof Kezgailo-Zavisza and podkarbiya the great Lithuanian Jericho Jerome . Children from the third marriage:

Anna Shield-Nemirovich was buried in the Barefoot Carmelite Church in Kaunas.
