Biography

Daniel Shukhanov was born in 1745; occurred according to the archives of the " Moldavian nobility ."

From the age of ten, Shukhanov was registered in military service in the Bakhmut Hussar Regiment [2] .

During the Russian-Turkish war of 1787-1791. , for successful actions to repel the Turkish assault on the Kinburn Spit, on October 18, 1787, on the proposal of Alexander Suvorov himself, was awarded the Order of St. George, 4th class No. 242

 For the courageous defeat of the enemy on October 1 at Kinburn and for repulsing his artillery. 

He took part in the Polish cathedral in 1792 and the suppression of the Koscius Uprising .

On June 20, 1799, Shukhanov was awarded the shoulder strap of a colonel .

In the Russian-Turkish war of 1806-1812. bravely fought the Turks under Bazardzhik, Shumla and Ruschuk.

During the invasion of Napoleon into the Russian Empire, he served in the Olviopolsky hussarsky regiment, which was in the reserve of the Danube army of Admiral Pavel Vasilyevich Chichagov .

After the expulsion of the enemy from his native land, Shukhanov took part in the foreign campaign of the Russian army , in which he was awarded the Order of St. Vladimir of the 3rd degree for his distinction under Michelsdorf. The bravery of Shukhanov in the battle of Dresden was marked by a golden saber with the inscription "For courage . "

September 15, 1813 received the rank of major general . In this rank he fought in the battle of the peoples , in the battles of Weimar, and of Keisau, the battles of Frankfurt am Main.

From September 1, 1814 he was in cavalry. Daniel Vasilyevich Shukhanov died in 1814.
