Biography

Date of birth - 1258/1262 years. Inherited his father at the earliest in 1295.

In 1274, he married his half-sister, Philippe de Loman (d. Between 1286 and 1294), the daughter of Arno-Odon II , Viscount of Loman, and Maria Bermont de Sov, who soon (1276) inherited the Viscountry of Loman and Avillar after the death of his brother Vesian . In 1286, she signed a deed of gift to her husband. But there were still applicants for Loman from among the relatives of the deceased Viscount. Therefore, in 1301, Eli IX ceded these possessions to the French king Philip the Beautiful in exchange for other lands (which only in 1320 received his son Arshambo).

Widowed, in 1298, Eli IX married Brunisende de Foix (1270-1324), daughter of Count Roger Bernard III de Foix and Margarita de Moncada . The marriage required the permission of the pope , as the future spouses were relatives in the 3rd tribe.

In March 1306, the count granted privileges to the city of Verlac in the diocese of Toulouse, and in 1302 he approved an agreement concluded in 1286 by his father and the inhabitants of Perigueux .
