Saint-Le ( Fr. Saint-Lyé ) - one of the 17 cantons of the Department of Ob , Grand Est region , France . The administrative center is located in Brienne-le-Chateau . The canton's INSEE code is 1011 ^[2] . Canton was established in 2015. Seven communes in Saint-Le Giuseux are located in the district of Troyes ; 26 communes are in the district of Nogent-sur-Seine .

Content

History

According to the law of May 17, 2013 and the decree of February 14, 2014, the number of cantons in the Ob department decreased from 34 to 17. The new territorial division of the departments into cantons entered into force during the 2015 elections. Thus, the canton of Saint-Lie was founded on March 22, 2015. It was formed from the abolished cantons of Marcill-le-Hayye (20 communes), Romilly-sur-Saint-1 (6 communes), Saint-Savin (2 communes) and Troyes-4 (5 communes) ^[3] ^[4] .

Policy

According to the law of May 17, 2013 ^[3], voters of each canton elect two members of the general council of a department of different sexes during the election. They are elected for 6 years by a majority of votes based on the results of one or two rounds of elections ^[5] .

In the first round of the cantonal elections on March 22, 2015, 3 pairs of candidates ran for Saint-Leigh (turnout was 51.35%). Daniel Boelen and Nicola Jouillet were elected with the support of 52.94% for 2015–2021 ^[6] .
