Sergei Evgenievich Mitrov ( 1882 - 1952 ) - Soviet education leader, stood at the origins of creating universities in the city of Perm. [one]
Born on October 7, 1882 in Perm in a large family of a teacher at a parish school.
After graduating from the classical male gymnasium, in 1901 he entered the historical and philological faculty of Moscow University . Without finishing it, in 1906, Sergey wrote a letter of resignation and returned to Perm , where he enlisted and became a soldier of the second-class militia. Then he was enrolled in the staff of the control chamber as an office clerk. In 1907 he continued his education at the St. Petersburg Institute of History and Philology at the Department of Ancient Languages, while becoming a student of the St. Petersburg Archaeological Institute . Two years later, Mitrov graduated from both institutes and became a full member of the Archaeological Institute. In June 1909, he was appointed full-time teacher of the ancient languages of the Yegoryevsk Gymnasium, and in August 1912 he transferred to the post of teacher of Latin and Greek at the Oryol 1st Gymnasium, where he worked for the next six years.

In connection with the October Revolution , Sergei Mitrov left the gymnasium in 1918 and was appointed chairman of the school board of the 10th Oryol Soviet school and a member of the Commission for Children's Colonies. After some time, he returned to Perm and began working as secretary of the provincial department of public education. In 1924, he was appointed managing director of Perm State University . When personnel cleansing began at the university under the rector S. A. Stoichev at the turn of the 1920s – 1930s, S. E. Mitrov, who did not support her, transferred to Perm State Medical Institute . In 1932, he headed the department of the Latin language and taught Latin . He worked on it in 1947. [2]
He died in April 1952 .
For his work in the Oryol Gymnasium he was awarded the Order of St. Stanislav of the 3rd degree; for his work during the Great Patriotic War he was awarded the medal "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-45." [one]
