History
Kronu Street is one of the oldest in Purvciems. It was first shown on maps of the early 1880s under its current name, which never changed (in some sources the street name is indicated as Kroņa iela ) [3] .
Originally, Kronu Street was different. It led from Krishyan Baron Street in the Grizinkalns district, in its middle part crossed the railway and ended at the Grizinmuiza estate, in the area of the current intersection of Braslas and Staiteles streets. As the railway facilities expanded, the two parts of the street became completely separate from each other, and in 1961 the part of Kronu Street, which belongs to Grizinkalns, was allocated to the independent Oskalna Street [3] (since 1996 - Zemitan Street ).
