The son of the centurion of the village of Razdorskaya-on-Don Region Don troops. After graduating from the veterinary department of the Medical and Surgical Academy in 1873 , he received a master's degree in veterinary science in 1876 for the dissertation “Pigmented rhabdomyoma” (“Journal for Normal and Pathological Histology, Pharmacology and Clinical Medicine”, 1876 ; Department of St. Petersburg, 1876 ).
Then he took a course in the medical department of the same academy and in 1885 received a doctor’s degree in medicine for his thesis: “On changes in the brain and spinal cord of dogs with rabies” (St. Petersburg, 1885 ).
In 1886 - 1893 he lectured at the same academy of pathological anatomy. Kolesnikov published in “Russian Medicine” and “Proceedings of the Congresses of Russian Doctors” a number of articles relating mainly to rabies and contagious diseases. He died in Novocherkassk.
