Biography
Shlivić became the pioneer of Serbian anthropology, starting as an anatomist to study the human remains found on archaeological excavations. One of his first expeditions was the expedition of Nikola Vulich , who led the research work in Trebiniste . Schliewicz worked on human remains from the devastated graves and made conclusions about the life expectancy of a buried person, his diseases and causes of death based on the results. Since 1933, this technique has been applied in Serbian physical anthropology. Shlivić also studied prehistoric Serbia and made several discoveries confirming the fact that the Serbs are an indigenous Balkan people and that their ancestors did not come from other territories [2] .
In 1946, Schlivić was appointed professor of the medical faculty of the University of Belgrade , in 1948-1950 and 1957-1958 he was his dean. In 1952-1954 he was rector of the Medical School of Belgrade. January 30, 1958 elected to the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts . He wrote the textbook "Anatomy of the Central Nervous System", published for the first time in 1964, after the death of Shlivich.
