House of Trade ( Ukrainian: Budinok Torgіvlі ) - a skyscraper in Kiev. The construction of the building was carried out in 1968-1981. The height of the 25-story building is 93.7 meters, [1] and taking into account the meteorological device, the height is 97.5 meters. [1] At one time it was the highest in Kiev and the second skyscraper in Ukraine after the Dnepropetrovsk Candles. The project of the house was developed by Valentin Yezhov . [2]
At the site of the skyscraper until 1968 were houses built in the 1850s, which before the October Revolution belonged to the Osadchich family. They were demolished in preparation for the construction. In 1968, the official laying of the foundation of the Republican Trade House building took place, and in 1981 the construction was opened. The design of the building was designed by Valentin Yezhov. The equipment (furniture) for the building was developed by the architect Irma Iosifovna Karakis . [3]
In 1999-2002, reconstruction projects were developed: the Center for Internal Relations, the 5th floor to house the State Tax Service of Ukraine and the restoration of the facade of the building. The leaders of the reconstruction were Valentin Yezhov and I. Osipenko.
