Career
Pletikosich began his shooting career in the mid-1980s. At the end of the same decade, he was one of the strongest shooters in the world at the youth level. In 1990 and 1991, he twice won the European Youth Championships, performing under the flag of Yugoslavia.
Also in 1991, he took second place at the World Cup in Zurich and made his way to the final stage, which took place in Munich . There, while shooting from a rifle lying down, Pletikosich set a junior world record (600 points out of 600 possible, the second similar result in history) and won a gold medal.
In 1992, sanctions were applied to Yugoslavia and athletes performed under the Olympic flag at the Games in Barcelona . Twenty-year-old Pletikosich performed only in one form of the program - in lying rifle shooting and won a bronze award, one of three medals won by independent athletes at those Games.
In 1994, Pletikosic became the vice world champion in lying rifle shooting, and twelve years later , speaking under the flag of Serbia and Montenegro he repeated this success already in three-position shooting.
During his career, he participated in six Olympics, missing the 2012 Games in London . In addition to the bronze medal at the Barcelona Olympics, the Serbian shooter reached the Olympic finals only in Beijing in an exercise with an air rifle and became the seventh there.
