Monuments Becket Ata

Becket Ata Monuments - architectural monuments in the 19th century in Kazakhstan , are located in Mangyshlak , Ustyurt and on the banks of the Emba River . They are underground structures that served as a mosque and madrassah , where Beket-ata prayed and taught children the basics of religion. In the XIX century, topographers E. Eversman, A. Dughamel collected all the legends about Becket-ata and explored one of the monuments in Ustyurt. On the walls of Ustyurt underground mosques there are inscriptions in Arabic and Persian. One of the monuments is located on the banks of Emba, 65 km from the city of Kulsary . A small room is cut down in an array of rocky cape. Two graves were found in it. Another monument in Eski Beyneu (to the south along the Atyrau-Aktau highway 21km from Beyneu) was built into a narrow gorge, the walls of the building were partially destroyed over time, now restored. The Ogylandin mosque in South Ustyurg is well preserved. Consists of seven rooms. In one of them is the grave of Becket-ata and his grandson Muryn. There are wells and springs around the underground structure.
