“Pugachev and his accomplices. An episode from the history of the reign of Empress Catherine II. 1773-1774 ” - a three-volume monograph by a military historian, Lieutenant General N. F. Dubrovin , dedicated to the Pugachev uprising . In the work on the monograph, Dubrovin first used a large number of archival materials from the collection of the Secret Investigation Commission of the Senate Secret Expedition, previously classified and inaccessible to researchers, as well as documents from other state and military archives of the Russian Empire. Despite the bias in relation to the personalities and actions of the rebellious side, the historical work of Dubrovin to this day remains relevant as one of the most detailed studies regarding the description of the events of the Peasant War of 1773-1775.
