Biography
Representative of the Polish gentry clan Dombian coat of arms " Godzemba ". The son of the cornet bydgoszcz Adam Dombsky and Justina Yanitskaya, the grandson of the governor of the Brzestz-Kuyavian Zygmund Dombsky (d. 1706).
He spent his childhood in Lubrantz , studied at a Jesuit school in Poznan , founded by Bishop Stanislav Kazimir Dombsky . Jan Ignace Dombsky served in the Polish army with the rank of captain , then bore the rank of lieutenant colonel in the regiment of Joachim Potocki , who subordinated the great Lithuanian ( 1763 ).
In 1764, Jan Ignace Dombski signed an electoral campaign by Stanislav Augustus Poniatowski . During the Bara Confederation, he was the leader of the Confederates of Gostyninsky land, receiving the rank of colonel of the national cavalry. As a colonel of Gostyninsky, he fought side by side against a bloc with Francis Mikorsky near Lovic ( April 1769 ), Torun ( July 1769 ). Joining in Malchevsky, participated in a raid near Warsaw. February 12, 1770 was defeated in a battle near Blonis . He participated in the battle of Kutno on October 30, 1770 . According to reports of hostilities near Lyubeny (near Gostynin ), he defeated the enemy. In June 1771, he acted with Anthony Moravsky near Radzeev, collecting 100 confederates in Gostyninsky land. He was wounded in the face and hands, taken prisoner, but with the support of his relatives he received freedom. In 1790, Jan Ignace Dombski was appointed royal chamberlain .
He died on September 23, 1826 in Lesnivice after falling from a horse.
He owned the estates: the Great and Small Lesnivice, Ostrovo and Rushkovo.
Family and Children
Jan Ignace Dombski was married to Antonina Katarina Pržysetskaya. Eight children were born in the marriage:
- Kayetan Dombsky (1769-1836), magistrate of the Gostyninsky district, comrade of the cavalry, judge of August
- Jozef Dombsky (1773-1842), married to Teresa Kraevskaya
- Nicodemus Dombsky (1777-1806), an officer in the Polish and Napoleonic army, was killed in battle with the Prussians near Lovic (1806)
- Vincent Dombsky (1783-1852), officer of the Polish army, holder of the cross of the Virtuti Militari and the cross of the Order of the Legion of Honor
- Jan Dombsky (1788-1827), officer of the Polish army, Knight of the Cross of the Legion of Honor
- Maria Dombskaya, wife of Wojciech Schepkowski, captain of the Polish and Napoleonic armies
- Katarina Dombskaya, wife of Xavier Nikolai Zholtovsky
- Constanцаa Dбbska, wife of Count Theodore van der Osten-Sacken (1762–1850), second lieutenant of the crown troops settled in Poland.
