Pilskalne ( Latvian: Pilskalne ) is a settlement in the Ilukst region of Latvia . The administrative center of Pilskalns parish . It is located at the regional road P70 ( Svente - Lithuanian border) near the western edge of the town of Ilukste . The distance to the city of Daugavpils is about 31 km [1] . According to data for 2015, 171 people lived in the village [2] . There is a volost administration, a tourist information center, a guest house, a shop.

History
The village is located on the lands of the former estate .
In Soviet times, the settlement was the center of the Pilskalnsky village council of the Daugavpils region [1] .
