Joseph Michael Strazzynski [1] [2] ( born Joseph Michael Straczynski ) is an American screenwriter, writer, creator of many science fiction and science- fiction television series , including the famous space opera Babylon 5 . Winner of many awards in science fiction and science fiction.

Biography

Joseph comes from a family whose roots go back to Catholic Eastern Europe. He attributes his roots to the Belarusian and Polish ancestors, but perhaps he comes from a clan belonging to the Commonwealth . His grandfather and grandmother fled to the United States from the 1917 revolution , his father was born in the United States , but lived in Germany , Poland and Russia . Perhaps the true spelling of his surname - Strączyński (approx. Pronouncement " Stronzynski ") - with Polish diacritics , as this is a well-known and common Polish surname. [3] [4]

Babylon 5

Having started working on television in 1983 , Strazhinsky took part in work on many animated series, and then in art series, quickly moving up the career ladder from the scriptwriter to the executive producer. The culmination of Joseph's growth was the Babylon 5 series , which won dozens of prizes and awards, including two Emmys and Hugo .

Strazhinsky is the author of 92 of the 110 episodes of Babylon 5, as well as a pilot film for the series and five feature films - spin-offs . The series differs from other "space operas" by the distribution of the plot over five years, the complexity of the characters of each character, the high level of realism of the characters, their actions and the universe surrounding them.
