Olga Nikolaevna Yamshchikova ( June 6, 1914 - August 31, 1982 ) - fighter pilot, squadron commander of the 586th IAP . It made 217 sorties, conducted 93 air battles, and shot down 3 enemy aircraft.

In 1942 she graduated from the Air Force Academy of the Red Army . In July-October 1942, as an assistant military representative at the plant No. 153 in the city of Novosibirsk, she took part in the acceptance of manufactured fighters for the Air Force of the Red Army.
In 1943, Olga Yamshchikova was appointed commander of the squadron of the 586th fighter aviation regiment. On August 2, 1943, for performing 15 sorties, including five especially important sorties for escorting LI-2 aircraft, senior technician-lieutenant Yamshchikova was awarded the Order of the Red Star.
In 1945, she was assigned to test work at the Air Force Research Institute . She took part in the tests of the Yak-9 , La-11 , Yak-15 , MiG-15 and L-29 . In total, she mastered about 40 types of aircraft, made over 8000 sorties, the total flight time left about 3000 hours.
She was awarded the Order of the Great Patriotic War of the 1st Art., Two orders of the Red Star, the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, as well as medals.
According to the memoirs of M.L. Popovich , Olga Nikolaevna was nicknamed "the grandmother of Russian aviation."
