Sports career
Four-time winner of world championships among juniors (1962, 1964-1966), in 1963 he took second place.
At the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo (1964), he became a bronze medalist in fencing competitions. His brother Claude also played in the national team. At his second Olympics in Munich, he was sixth in the individual standings and fourth in the team competition.
He was also a two-time world champion in the team event (1965 and 1966) and twice was a silver medalist in world championships (1967 and 1974).
Five-time champion of France (1968.1969, 1971, 1972 and 1974).
At the end of his sports career, he worked as an electrician.
